Challenge: There was no real challenge
What worked well:
- Super simple setup of store and creation of products
- It was a great user experience creating the first shop. It felt like a success.
What can be improved:
- When signing up for Shopify I have to enter email+password on 2 different pages. Why that?
- Account creation page should highlight mandatory fields. So the user doesn't have to try what works and what not.
- I got 2 account verification mails. I think 1 is sufficient.
- During the product creation the fields have different decimal points. Price uses a dot "." and the weight uses a comma ","
- Is there a reason why the profit & marign is hidden when selecting "Charge tax on this product"?
- The relogin on app.shopify.com is a bit cumbersome. Why can't at least the store URL or better the whole authentication be provided automatically by the link in the shop-admin interface?
- First redirect to app.shopiy.com showed me an error-page
- I was not able to adjust the placement of the text+button on the homepage.
Take-away:
Focusing on the most important tasks for most merchants really makes the product easier to use. This should always stay in the focus.
